At Leah Foundation, we’re dedicated to brighter futures for women, children, and communities across Nigeria. Our mission includes addressing cultural, socio-economic, and health challenges through education, healthcare access, and skills development.
On July 26th and 27th, Leah Foundation, in collaboration with the Dele Shittu Foundation, hosted a significant sickle cell disease screening event. This initiative aimed to improve early diagnosis and management of the disease, impacting countless lives positively.
July 26th: Screening at Shao
We kicked off the event at the residence of the traditional head of Shao. This location provided a central and accessible point for the local community. Together with the Dele Shittu Foundation, we screened 300 individuals for sickle cell disease, marking a crucial step towards better health management in the region.
July 27th: Screening at Offa
On the following day, we continued our mission at the Basic Health Care Centre in Isale Ago, Offa. Another 300 individuals were screened, making a total of 600 people benefiting from this essential service. The partnership with the Dele Shittu Foundation underscores our commitment to preventing hereditary diseases and fostering informed health decisions.
This collaborative effort is a testament to our dedication to improving health outcomes and raising awareness about sickle cell disease. By providing these screenings, we are not only supporting individual health but also contributing to the overall well-being of our communities.
At Leah Foundation, we are proud to be part of this life-changing initiative and remain committed to advocating for better health and brighter futures for all.
